Winter Solstice Sound Ritual

when all is quiet, what can be heard? when we surrender our voices for silence, what emerges?

About this Event

like a familiar song that beckons us home, winter invites us to turn inward. to honor the balance of life and death through listening and stillness.

in this final sound ritual of the SACRED SEASONS project, we explore the song of silence, by surrendering to the earth and letting the stillness of the winter guide us back to ourselves.

join sound ritualist zaneta for an evening of ritual magic and sonic scenery, listening to the ancient earth singing through snow, wind, and ice. participants will receive a seasonal ritual guide to work with throughout the season.

ritual soundscapes, singing, intentional listening techniques, meditation, seasonal reflections, and magic are all woven together to help us reconnect to the special energy of the winter solstice.

for those unfamiliar with this project, this is a blend of sound art, spiritual ecology, and community ritual, and will be conducted on Youtube Livestream.

special thanks to the Brooklyn Arts Council and the Macaulay library at Cornell for supporting this project. ⁣
