Join acclaimed vibraphonist Chris Dingman, whose work was described by The New York Times as “hypnotizing”, for a transformational sound journey in the beautifully resonant space of The Angel Nyack.
Chris plays the vibraphone - a unique and beautiful instrument - in a singular, virtuosic way using the waves and layers of sound along with his voice to bring listeners into a heightened meditative state where healing, connection, visions, and inspiration can occur. It is a dream-like experience that is at once activating, relaxing, and rejuvenating. Projected visuals enhance this sonically rich and expansive journey.
For this edition of the Dreaming Place, special guest interdisciplinary sound artist and ritualist Zaneta will be helping us build a community ancestral altar. We welcome you to bring photos and/or special items of remembrance of loved ones who have passed away, to add to the altar. Zaneta will then guide a meditation to bring us into communion with our loved ones, leading into Chris’s sound journey.
The setting for this journey is the spacious and sonically resplendent sanctuary at The Angel, a new arts & event space set in a beautiful, historic church in the heart of the charming village of Nyack - an ideal space to stretch out and be immersed.
Dream with us in this beautiful and supportive community setting. All are welcome!
